Saxon Phonics and Spelling is designed for kindergarten through second grade students to build a strong foundation in reading and spelling. The program emphasizes explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency, using a multisensory approach that engages visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning modalities. It is suitable for English learners, students with dyslexia, and special education students, providing differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
The program uses an incremental, spiral methodology, introducing concepts in small steps while continually reviewing previously taught material.
