Designed to assess the reading skills taught in the Explode the Code series, teachers will be able to analyze their students' performance to determine appropriate placement within the series. Six placement tests will determine decoding and encoding skill and include:

• Primer-level tests to assess phonemic awareness and sound-letter correspondence
• Elementary and intermediate level tests to assess spelling and reading
• Optional tests to assess word identification and syllabication
